How this site is made
HOW PAGES GET CHECKED
Every page here is written to be read by an owner making a real money decision, so somebody has to look at it before it goes out.
Who looks at what
A page starts as a draft. Our content manager reads it for accuracy, for whether the numbers match the sources we publish, and for whether it answers the question an operator actually asked. Our brand manager checks how the page looks and reads on a phone and on a laptop. Nothing carries a reviewer credit until both of those checks are done on the same page. You can see who they are on our team page.
Outside reviewers with a credential
For topics where being wrong costs an owner money, we bring in a credentialed practitioner to check the content and sign their name to it. When you see a reviewer named on a page, that person read the program descriptions, the eligibility criteria, the published cost figures and the method behind them, and the questions and answers for that topic, on a stated date. They confirmed that content, not every page built from it.
Reviewers are compensated for their time. Compensation does not depend on page performance or on any professional's business.
What a reviewer name does not mean
A reviewer is not a lender, does not work for us, and does not decide who gets funded. They do not see your information, and they have no part in which funding partners receive a request. Rates, terms, and offers come from the funding partners themselves, and every published range is an estimate with its source listed on our sources page.
Found something wrong
Tell us and we will fix it. A flagged page goes back through writing and review with the reason attached, so the correction lands on the page, not just in a reply. Reach us through our contact page.
